Something not right .... im in Canada sweating my ass off with a couple fans doing what they can, and youre in Australia cranking up the heat with a sweater on ... I think they forgot to teach me something in school.

Merry wintersday to all and to all a good weekend!!

Yeah, they forgot something big. The season in the Southern Hemisphere is opposite of the season in the Northern Hemisphere because of the way the Earth tilts, or something.

Mm, apparently they forgot to teach you about seasons and that Australia is HUGE, and only a few very small places have perpetual heat...

I think it's really cool aNet is having Wintersday in July. Absolutely fitting for those in the Southern Hemisphere!

GG to the Northern Hemisphere dwellers here who decided to bash this idea by showing their cultural ethnocentrism and geographical ignorance.

Snowball Arenas here I come. Hopefully the lag won't be as bad as the Rollerbeetle Races so that I can get Gamer (4)

And... Yes... I'm on for the Polar Bear hunt

Right when I seen that I knew they ran out of ideas. I just started laughing when I seen the event, but cool none the less.

Crap! I'm getting eye surgery on Friday and I have to "relax" my eye for 2 days afterward. That means no farming any festival drops

There has been no mention of quests, so for those going "Cool, A Polar Bearz/hat/collectorz" I think you have the wrong end of the stick. We're not getting the full Wintersday treatment (unless I'm proven otherwise), just Snowball arena and drops while PvEing.

Wow. Much ignorance and whining in this thread. Wintersday in July is a perfectly fine idea and common in other parts of the world.

Indeed that would mean they either a)have ran out of ideas
b) are extremelly busy (GW2?)
or c) we'll have pretty big changes by december...

Nah, I don't think they ran out of ideas...otherwise they wouldn't have done this.

Since all the commercials are celebrating this whole Christmas in July thing, I'm not surprised to have this event going on. I laughed when I saw this on the announcements.

Imma laugh my ass off at all the whiners who'll be crying in LA when the rift wardens don't let them get their grubby little paws on the polar bear quest. Because, uh, they won't be there O_O

I mean, really, no mention of quests. No mention of collectors. No mention of a big finale with hats.

Do you people operate on a different plane from the rest of us who can read?

Ideally, if we could get confirmation from Regina, I'd clear up a lot of confusion.

Winter in July is common in both the southern and northern hemispheres. In the south because it physically is the winter months and in the north as it is used as a "Mental cool" concept.

BTW: Eating hamburgers has no effect on learning geography. That was the most asinine comment in this thread.
